iPad 2 Review
Apple did not invent the iPad but spiced up the already good Tablet PC. Apple does not need more to keep the competition at bay because until now the Android Tiger by Samsung and Motorola are only good on paper.
The new iPad 2 is available and it is selling as quickly as donuts. Only Apple manages to do something like this since it just release the older version less than a year ago.
As long as there is no serious competitor we can only compare the iPad 2 with his predecessor. It is immediately apparent that the second generation is thinner. Apple has slimmed it down from 13.4 to 8.8 millimeters. The iPad 2 looks better and now it feels even better in your hands. It is much easier to handle. The 3G model now weighs only 613 instead of 730 grams. While it is still not a pure pleasure to hold the device with one hand it is certainly not painful anymore.
All in all the iPad 2 at this time is by far the best Tablet PC even taking the lack of flash and the lack of connection options into account. Owner of an “old” iPad can surely omit the second generation – especially if they do not need the video chat option. Get the iPad 3 some time next spring: most likely with a true high-resolution display and by then the inner life of the first generation should be easily done with almost any app.
